About Raffles Winds

Raffles Winds is a combined band of Raffles Girls' School (RGS), Raffles Institution (RI), and RI (Junior College) alumni members. It was initiated in 2001 by a group of then-RJC band alumni who wanted to continue relishing the musical experience after graduation.

Today, RWinds serves to provide a platform for all ex-Rafflesian alumni band members from different batches to perform on the same stage - an unattainable prospect during their school years. The band's more than 300 members include alumni dating from the batch of 1982 to the recently graduated batch of 2011. In the gathering of many band members from different generations, RWinds aspires to serve as an organisation committed to the strengthening of Raffesian bonds.

Coda, a musical term used to describe a concluding passage in a composition, parallels our final experience as band alumni. As CODA becomes a regular event in RWinds' calendar, the series of successful annual CODA concerts since 2005 have become an opportunity for members to share their passion for music.
